Join thousands of others at the biggest wizardry festival in Blyth, Ontario.

Ticket prices are slashed for a limited time only.

Not only will the Festival of Wizardry be bringing a well known actress from the Harry Potter series from Britain to Ontario, but we have also founded a school for witches and wizards. The Borealis School for Wizards will feature several classes to teach you how to brew potions, track dragons, divine the future and duel other wizards. You can also craft your own wands, potions, and even your own magical creatures in our school supplies department. This certificate program, recognized by Canada’s Dominion of Magic, is only available at the Borealis School for Wizards. You don’t need to wait for an acceptance letter, you just need to attend the festival and complete all your classes to receive your certificate.

You’ll be meeting a well known actress from Harry Potter so don’t forget to dress up. There will be costume contests  running all day with lots of prizes for young and old. You and your magical or mundane friends can pose in front of original sets for photo opportunities that will put you smack dab in the middle of a magical world. These sets will include the gates of Canada’s most prestigious School for Magic as well as ‘Shambles Alley’ where the storefronts promise all kinds of magical implements. The Scavenger’s Exchange will be a popular photo opportunity and a chance to pick up your gold coin after completing the the tasks in the world’s largest scavenger hunt. That’s right, the Festival of Wizardry is hoping to beat the Guinness Book Record set last year at Ottawa’s Canada 150 celebrations for world’s biggest scavenger hunt.

If this wasn’t enough to convince you to come already you will be able to wave your wands to the amazing music of The Lovegoods, The Mudmen and still others while taking in Quidditch Canada’s first official tournament of the season. Watch as Canada’s National Champions, Valhalla Quidditch, defend their possession of Perdue’s Cup. Between music sets and Quidditch matches you can compete in the Poly Wizard Tournament in totally free games of skill and wisdom including the Scavenger Hunt, Bouncy Mazes, Giant Chess, Wizard’s Koob, Archery Tag and More! One person who completes the Poly Wizard tournament will be randomly selected to receive their own magical train ride courtesy of VIA Rail in the form of a $500 gift certificate. This winner will also be able to leave their mangy trunks behind thanks to Samsonite Luggage in Stratford, Ontario who have provided brand new luggage for them.

Don’t forget to visit White’s Wands Wonder Emporium to select the perfect wand and be truly astounded at the many wonder’s that have been assembled by master wand maker Steven White. Located in a 1200 square foot tent these novelties will include the Divination Throne, The Cabinet of Curiosities, Mundane Artifacts and include many other wand activated wonders, musical sculptures and art.

For those wishing to spend a galleon or two you can shop in one of the vendor tents for licensed merchandise, hand crafted items, tarot reading, and escape rooms. You can also find food and drinks at one of the many food trucks located beside the Feast Hall Tent, in the Wizard’s lounge or at one of the nearby restaurants featuring themed food and drinks. Another paid activity is the newly discovered Bulla Ball where participants can cast the spell ‘Contatia Bulla’ to encase themselves in a protective bubble and attempt to beat the opposing team without falling… too much.

Now the news you’ve been waiting for…

Bonnie Wright, the British actress, director, screenwriter and producer who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter movie series will be there! Fandom Sunday will feature autograph sessions, a live stage interview, expert panels and and some hilarious surprises on top of all the regular festival programming. All in all it’s not to shabby for a small town in Southwestern Ontario, I guess that’s why the whole town gets in on the action as well. This is one of the many reasons why we call ourselves Transfigured Town.

The Festival of Wizardry sold out early last year and had no tickets available at the door. With almost half of the 18,500 tickets sold already there is no guarantee that tickets will still be available at the gates this year either. So if you and your family would like to become wizards for the day you can get your tickets at TransfiguredTown.com before they ‘disappear’. The Festival is being held in the village of Blyth, Ontario.
